Sophomores Natalie Nichols and Shauna Howard splash in the aftermath of this week’s rain in celebration of National Step in a Puddle and Splash Your Friends Day, Jan. 11.
This National Day celebrates the rainy season, and the fun that it brings. Nichols shares her thoughts on the recent rain showers.
“I enjoy this holiday because it’s fun to jump in puddles,” Nichols said. “I love the rain. On a more serious note, I think the rain is good for the valley because of all the fires that have been happening recently.”
So far in 2018, according to Fresno State, the total amount of rainfall is .48 inches. The average for January the last two years is 6.18 inches in 2017, and 3.77 inches for 2016.
This week, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy; however, there is a low chance of rain. Light sprinkling is forecasted for next Thursday, Jan. 25.
