Dear Editor:
If health resources become accessible to individuals, America becomes a healthier society. In her May 16 online article, ìRevised food pyramid debuts,î Michelle Rose introduces the debate over the new food pyramid. This is a wonderful introduction for students to improve their health.
The average person desires to be healthy and the pyramid guides eating habits. Instead of a generalized ìone size fits all,î the revised pyramid gives a better plan on an individual basis.
As an athlete, I need to keep a structured diet and exercise plan. After I inserted my age and level of exercise into the new web site, I understood what I needed to eat of each food group.
Rose could have included more of this information in her article. Although the article appeared very informative, the addition of an explanation of the food pyramid would help my understanding. However, she guided me to a helpful web site that will help me become a better athlete.
