Varsity softball win their senior night home game against Minarets in a mercy rule, May 3. Before the game, the softball team and parents honor their seniors with flowers and posters.
Seniors on the team are Mariana Fikse, Alyssa Melillo, Tali Hill, Celeste Counts and Erin Wilson.
This is Wilson’s fourth year playing softball and shares her favorite memories and parts about the sport.
“My favorite memory has to be when I was running to catch a pop fly and completely flipped over the fence in front of everyone,” Wilson said. “I love the fact that there is an individual aspect along with the team aspect in this sport. I will miss my teammates and my coaches. I love the comradely that comes along with being on a sports team. I’ve learned to just trust myself and let it go when I make an error. Softball is an extremely mental sport and it’s best when you can brush off your mistakes.”
Their next game takes place at Caruthers High School at 3:30 p.m., May 8.
