The senior class of 2018 closes their high school career as they look forward to their future beyond FC. Before graduation, The Feather choose seniors to spotlight every week to get to know them a little better. This is the 2018 senior spotlight of Catherine Palacios.
How long have you attended FCS?
I have attended FCS since October 2017.
What’s your favorite hobby/what do you do in your free time?
I enjoy volunteering at the Kaweah Delta hospital in Visalia because it’s the only time I find true fulfillment and happiness in losing my life in the service of others.
What’s your plan after you graduate?
I plan to attend college, major in biology with an emphasis in pre-med.
What has been your favorite memory from high school?
I can not think of any specific memory I have enjoyed but I did enjoy the people. Honestly I did not willingly go to FC so whenever people were nice to me I wasn’t always receptive and I’m sorry for that, but now I realize what a blessing the people of FC have been in my life and I’m truly grateful for the experiences God had intended for my life.
What advice would you give students about high school that you wish you knew?
I wish I knew about how insignificant temporary wants and pleasures were in the grand scheme of things. Life is all about little sacrifices that are worth the greater gain in the future. So just be ready to make some sacrifices along the way in order to achieve your goal. Remember to just do your best and let Jesus do the rest.
Fun facts: I play three instruments: harp, piano, and violin. I’ve traveled to over 15 countries around the world. My personality strength and weakness is the same. I am a gymnast and I also do aerial silks
