With a total of 22 college representatives visiting campus during lunch, students attend various booths gaining information about participating colleges during the annual Fresno Christian College Fair, Sept. 17.
College representatives set up tables in the campus courtyard, displaying pamphlets and souvenirs items including pens and other small items. Students have the opportunity to learn about the college through the college representatives as well as the free pamphlets provided.
This fair is especially helpful to FC’s seniors, providing them with an on-campus college fair, highlighting Christian colleges.
Academic advisor, Evangelina Tello, shares the benefits she believes having an on-campus college fair provides.
“It is important to have a campus college fair because it gets students engaged and exposed to different universities across California,” Tello said. “I want to make sure students have someone to connect with from community college level, CSU level, UC level and private university level. This is good for Freshman because they build relationships leading up to senior year.”
High school English classes offer students extra credit for capturing a selfie of themselves with three pamphlets from different colleges.
Besides extra credit, students have the opportunity to earn something else, gift cards! After taking a selfie with a college representative, students are entered into a drawing for a gift card. The more selfies, the more entries students received. There are a total of four gift cards to In-N-Out and Starbucks.
If you are one of the lucky winners, be sure to stop by Tello’s office to redeem your prize.
This is approximately Fresno Christian’s seventh annual on-campus College Fair.
