High school and junior high students listen to chapel speaker Alexander Delgado, from NE Assembly of God, Oct. 9. Delgado works with teens and adults as a youth and young adults pastor.
The sermon focuses on the story of Jacob, Rachel, and Leah with their struggle seeing blessings through all circumstances in life. He points out Leah’s hardships in feeling neglected and encourages the audience to change their perspective on life and look for blessings in every situation.
Delgado reads Genesis 29:17-27 and challenges students, “What has God blessed you with today that you cannot see?” and “There has to come a moment in your life when your perspective changes.”
Freshman Max Hinton shares his thoughts on chapels and why he thinks they are an important part of Fresno Christian.
“A blessing I might not recognize in my life enough is getting to come to Fresno Christian and Worship God,” Hinton said. “I think it is an incredible opportunity that I often take for granted. I really enjoy speaker chapels, because I can always take something away from them and they challenge me and the school to truly become better. I learned last week that there are many blessings in our lives that way too often than not we glance over and do not recognize and thank God for. I think it is important for us to gather in chapels every week because it gives us a solid time to focus all our attention on God without other distractions, and I think they really unite the school and they are definitely something I look forward to every week.”
Every Tuesday a guest speaker or FCS faculty member preaches to high school and junior high, and each Thursday, high school worship team leads the student body in four worship songs. Stay tuned for next week’s chapel speaker and worship posts on The Feather’s instagram and twitter pages.
