Seniors are declared the winners of the first on-campus rally of the 2018-19 school year, Oct. 19. After receiving spirit points from dressing up in the senior class dress up theme, St. Patrick’s day, and winning both rounds of dodge ball, class of 2019 receive a candy prize for their victory.
A game of dodgeball was the scheduled activity for the fall sports rally. With an initial competition of juniors vs sophomores, and seniors vs freshman, the seniors faced the juniors in the finals.
Athletes that participate in fall sports such as girls tennis and volleyball were honored to kick off the gathering. Both teams are preparing for upcoming playoffs, so be sure to stay tuned for further playoff information. Football and cheer were honored earlier in the season at the annual Bonfire Rally.
Today, each class was given the opportunity to participate in a themed dress up day and play dodgeball during the assembly. Leadership decided on the theme holidays, with the freshman class as Thanksgiving, sophomores wearing Christmas attire, juniors dressing in patriotic clothing for 4th of July and the seniors as Saint Patrick’s Day.
Freshman Avery Walters is happy to spend Friday afternoon in the gym rather than in the classroom.
“I thought the rally was great,” Walters said. “Dodgeball was a fun idea, and I think they should do it another time. Rallys are a good way to take a break from usual school, so I hope they are planning to have another one soon.”
Kudos to the seniors as they were crowned fall sports rally champions!
