Girls tennis team defeats Roosevelt High School, 8-1, in their first playoff match at home, Oct. 23.
Head coach Robert Foshee has been coaching for seven years, and a part of the FC community for 18 years. He also coaches girls basketball.
There are 12 members on the team this year. Team captains are seniors Alina Davila and Ashley Zamarripa. Davila has been playing for three years, Zamarripa playing for two years.
Samantha Portale, ’21, has playing for two years. Portale shares why she desires to pursue tennis throughout her high school career.
“I want to keep playing tennis throughout high school because I really want to get good at it,” Portale said. “It is a lot of fun to be out there with my friends.”
Girls tennis continues their playoff season against Firebaugh High School, Oct. 31.
