Today is the first Sister to Sister meeting of the year! Older sisters cover themselves from head to toe with blankets and wrapping paper, labeled with little sisters name’s, waiting for their little sisters to find them and reveal their identity, Oct. 25.
The idea behind the hidden identity activity sprouted from the aspiration to treat sister pairings as a gift being unwrapped. After little sisters unveil their older sister’s identity, they enjoy lunch together, getting to know one another.
There is a total of almost 90 JH and HS girls a part of the program this year, under the leadership of first year advisor, Hope Villines. After taking over the program this year from previous advisor Katie Reneau, Villines looks to the future of the program with excitement. She hopes to take an entirely new approach on the program, different from previous years.
Villines’ motto for the 2018-19 S2S school year is “Iron sharpens iron.” She hopes that older and younger sisters sharpen each other spiritually throughout the course of the year.
Sister to Sister is a program at FC, where high school girls are paired up with junior high girls to mentor. Throughout the year, sisters gather on and off campus to enjoy lunch together. High school and junior high boys are also offered a program along the same principal knows as Brother to Brother, run by JH science teacher Terry Richards.
