Football advances to semi-finals

Fresno Christian varsity football defeats Desert High in a shutout, 57-0, Nov. 2 and advances to the next round of the CIF Central Section playoffs.

Returning the kickoff for a touchdown, Aaron LaCroix, ’19, scores his first of three touchdowns in the first half.  The Eagles dominated the Scorpions, leading 50-0  at the half.

Six other Eagles added to the scoreboard during the  game, including Richie Cortez with a two-point conversion and five PATs. Marcus James, ’20, with a pick-six, and Blake Burdan, ’20, with two rushing TDs. Final score: FC 57, Desert 0.

The Eagles next host Orcutt Academy, Nov. 9.  This will be the last home game of the 2018 season.  With a Friday night win, the Eagles will move on to most likely meet Mission Prep in the finals, Nov. 16 for the  Central Section CIF Les Schwab 8-man football Championships Final. The championship game will be on Nov. 16.
