Hallie Rojeski’s eighth-grade history class take the annual 130 fill-in-the-blank and multiple choice question U.S. Constitution test, Nov. 30.

The class has studied for six weeks leading up to the much anticipated test. Study groups, daily quizzes and homework assignments play a role in teaching students the history of the U.S. government and how the political system works.

A formal lunch is held following the completion of the test for students to celebrate and relax with fellow classmates. Parents prepare lunch and dessert, as well as decorations to honor the classes’ hard work.

Towards the end of the lunch, Rojeski announces and hands out certificates to award students who received above 100% grades on quizzes, prior to the test.

This year is the 30th year Rojeski has held the test, the first being in 1989. Teaching at FC 30 years, Rojeski shares the pride she has felt watching her students succeed on the test throughout her time teaching.

“Year after year, the students do such an excellent job,” Rojeski said. “Almost always the average grade is a B, out of a 200-point test. The kids take it seriously and I really appreciate that.”
