Throwing it back to last year’s 94th Columbia Scholastic Press Association‘s (CSPA) Spring Convention in New York, where the 2018 Feather staff received a CSPA Digital News Gold Crown.
We are excited to announce that for the 11th year in a row, The Feather Online is nominated for another Digital News Crown, Dec. 3. Stay tuned as The Feather Online joins 17 other schools from across the country in this 2019 national scholastic journalism competition.
Editor Samuel Cross, ’19, and four-year staffer, is appreciative of the continued recognition.
“The Feather has presented me with so many opportunities to learn and grow alongside fellow classmates,” Cross said. “It’s exciting to be recognized as a staff by a national organization. It’s been a team effort this year, the journalists and editors have really supported each other in pursuing a CSPA Crown.”
First year journalist Cohl Obwald, ’21, started taking The Feather because he thought it would help him become more proficient in writing.
“Being nominated for a CSPA Crown award makes me believe in myself more,” Obwald said. “It gives me more confidence in my ability to write for The Feather in years to come. I have really enjoyed the camaraderie aspect of being able to talk to the editors as friends and not be judged by them for what I have done wrong.”
Winners will be announced during the CSPA 95th Spring Convention, March 20-22, 2019.
