Fresno Christian cheer teams compete at the 2019 Clovis West Pep and Cheer Showcase, Feb. 10.
The varsity cheer team competed against one other team and placed first in the High School Show Cheer (super) division, earning a superior ranking. Varsity has competed at four competitions this season.
The Junior high cheer team placed second against four teams, receiving a ranking of superior in the Intermediate Show Cheer (large) division.
Elementary cheer squad placed first against three teams. Earning a ranking of superior in the Elementary Show cheer non-tryout (super). The team also received grand champions over all the elementary teams.
Varsity cheer captain, Amanda Grimmius, ’19, has been involved in cheer since the first grade and finds the sport challenging and a good way to bond with other girls.
“My favorite part of cheer this year would either be our senior night or winning grand champions at FCC,” Grimmius said. “The thing I’m going to miss most about cheer is the challenge that it brought to my life both mentally and physically, but also the sisterhood that I share with the team.”
