The Pretty Pink Princesses challenge the Big Blue Boys to another game of volleyball for the ninth time on Dec. 1. With a record of 8-0 in the South West Sierra League, the varsity volleyball team remains confident they will be victorious against the varsity football team.

?Of course we will win,? Christina Cabias, ?07, said. ?We have been playing and practicing together for an entire season so we are obviously going to dominate.?

Although the annual game was canceled last year, the Pretty Pink Princesses plan on a quick victory in the FC gym, the varsity football team relies on their appearance.

?The volleyball team is going to win,? Ryan Taylor, ?07, said, ?but we will look better.?

In eight years the football team has only won once, for a record of 1-7. In 1998, the boys won 2-1, but clinched the win in the third game, 15-13. The two teams last played in 2004 with the Pink Ladies winning, 2-0.

Varsity volleyball coach, Larry Orender, predicts a win for the Pretty Pink Princesses as well.

?It shames me to say, because I am a boy, that the Big Blue Boys do not stand a chance,? Orender said. ?The girls are pumped for this game and I know they will execute on the court.?

For the students, the rally is looked upon as an opportunity to waste class time, but for senior volleyball players, this game means one last chance to play alongside fellow teammates.

?I am looking forward to playing one last game with my team,? Aliza Ford, ?07, said. ?This match is extremely special now that I am a senior and this is a tradition I hope will be carried on even after I graduate.?

Campus pastor, Scott Falk, looks forward to his annual refereeing responsibilities.

?I love volleyball,? Falk said. ?I also enjoy wearing the striped shirt and blowing the whistle.?

At the end of the rally, student leadership will provide a lunch offering pizza for $1 per slice and cold beverages for $0.75 in the front of the building 6 entry way.
