Boys tennis picks up a win against Orange Cove, 5-4, securing the West Sierra, division 5, league champion title, April 10.
They conclude league with a, 15-1, record. Nicely done Eagles, congratulations!
Though nervous prior to the match, coach Daniel “Bulldog” Jessing couldn’t be happier with the result of the game.
“One of my favorite moments from this season has been ending regular season by beating Orange Cove,” Jessing said. “ That was one of the best moments of my coaching career! Seeing our seniors step up and lead this team has made me so proud. We have really great senior leadership this year.
Next up, boys tennis participates in an all-day tournament at Sierra Racquet Club, beginning at 8 a.m. Stay tuned for final tournament scores. Head over to The Feather Twitter and Instagram to see the outcome of the tournament.
In the eyes of Jessing, this year’s team has the best shot at Valley’s in a bit.
“I am very hopeful that FC has a shot at Valleys,” Jessing said. “We have a very strong team and we should be in the mix for one of the top seeds! Anything can happen but this is our best chance in quite a while. The fact that we went 15-1 in a very competitive league is super special. Nothing was handed to these guys, they fought for everything and earned this league title. I couldn’t be any prouder of them!”
Stay tuned to The Feather social media accounts for playoff schedule which should be posted soon.
