FCS instrumental music program performs their spring concert, A Night with the Maestro, May 10. Lead by instrumental director Lesley Bannister, the music program featured scores by award-winning composer, John Williams.
Third-grade recorders, fourth-grade percussion, fifth-grade band, Eagle and FC bands, and percussion ensemble performed in the concert. Music groups performed famous scores from movies such as Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Jaws.
Bannister shares her excitement for John Williams’s music and the spring concert.
“Since the launch of Star Wars in 1977, John Williams’ music has been etched into the minds of moviegoers everywhere,” Bannister said. “His scores have captured the imaginations of people in theater seats anticipating a dramatic moment in the film. Hearing his scores brought to life on stage will make for an exciting concert.”
Along with all nine of the Star Wars films released to date, John Williams is also credited with doing scores for films such as Schindler’s List, Home Alone, ET, Indiana Jones, Hook, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, and Jurassic Park.
