SENIORS WIN–
For the second consecutive year, the class of 2006 has won the 27th annual homecoming float competition with their representation of The Wizard of Oz on Oct. 14. In keeping with the classic movie theme, the sophomores placed second with Mary Poppins, the freshmen finished third with The Swiss Family Robbinson, while the juniors received fourth place by showcasing Grease.

During half-time of the Firebaugh football game, senior Erin Elmore was named queen and crowned by alumna, Hillary Kell, ’05. Elmore and newly crowed king, senior Jordan Hogue’s royal court consisted of senior princess, Tara Albrechtson, junior Aliza Ford, sophomore Clair Kister and freshman Natalie McCallum. Earlier during the day, Hogue was crowned homecoming king by last year’s king, Chris White, ’05.

IT’S THE LAW–

Boys 18 years old must register for the draft. By law, every young man living in the U.S. (whether he is a citizen or not) must register with Selective Service when he turns 18. Men who fail to register become ineligible for important opportunities that can impact their entire lives, such as student loans, job training, and government jobs. Male immigrants who wish to become citizens will be denied if they are not registered. Students can register online at www.sss.gov.
