Every year student journalists across the nation pay homage to the craft they so endeavor, called Scholastic Journalism week (SJW), February 19-23. This year’s theme, “Here to stay,” represents the accomplishments of the JEA organization over the last 100 years.
The goal of JEA since 1924 has been to support journalism through resources and education while providing opportunities for both students and advisers. JEA has played a vital role in the training of Feather journalist under advisers Greg Stobbe and Kori James.
The Feather team has been participating for decades in SJW week with students and the community, raising awareness for student voice and the many topics covered. This week in particular, The Feather journalist take time to talk about their roles and the challenges that come with connecting to their peers through various forms of media.
Thank you to the Fresno Christian Community for the continued support of your journalism team. Most of all thank you for engaging with us on our website and social media accounts. We are honored to share your voice. Be sure to stay tuned each day as we celebrate SJW week.
