Fresno Christian seniors are honored for their academic achievements throughout their high school years during the annual end of year CSF banquet. The event which is planned by Academic Counselor Evangelina Escovedo includes a celebratory dinner for students and their family.
California Scholastic Federation (CSF) is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to recognize and encourage academic achievement along with community service among middle and high school students. Since 1921 the organization has awarded more than $120,000 in scholarships. With approximately 1500 chapters throughout California, students must earn at least ten calculated points based on grades to participate in the program. Longevity earns high recognition upon graduation.
Speakers for the evening were Escovedo, science teacher Jacob Cantu and CSF student president Serenity Cortez, ’24. CSF class representatives Ava Bishel, ‘25, Natalie Sullivan, ‘25, Danielle Arndt, ‘26 and James Emerian, ‘26 awarded students with a certificate, cord and golden sash that will be worn at graduation.
Natalie Sullivan awarded Miracle Neal, ‘24 with the student-nominated CSF scholarship along with Chloe McDonald who received the Mart Stuff award. This is awarded based on consistnet volunteer hours with school concession stand.
“It was an amazing honor to be the recipient of a scholarship,” McDonald said. “I wasn’t expecting anything but I am so grateful for the opportunity.”
This year an all-time record high was set with 40 CSF senior members.
Here are some more impressive stats:
-34 seniors holding “CSF 100% Membership” for all 7 semesters of high school academics.
-1 senior holding “CSF Highest Honors” for 6 semesters of high school academics.
-5 seniors holding “CSF Life Membership” for over 4+ semester of high school academics.
