Pick a card, roll the dice, and solve the mystery at “Family Game Night,” Fresno Christian’s 39th Annual Homecoming, Oct. 7-11. The week’s agenda is filled to the brim with preliminary festivities including creative float building, dress-up days, competitive princess pageants and an epic royal lip-sync battle. These events build anticipation toward Friday night, when the Eagles will face rival team, the Sierra Chieftains, on the football field and the royal court will strut the red carpet during half time. This year, the FC community has made it a priority to fundraise for Central Valley Honor Flight; the nonprofit organization has made it their mission to honor surviving war veterans by flying them to Washington D.C. to see the memorials in person.
Day three of homecoming draws to a close, leaving Fresno Christian students with memories of wacky twin outfits and princesses plugging their noses as they choked down atrocious food combinations.
Dress Up Day: Connect Four (twin day)
From pajama pants and flowy skirts to yellow minions and Taco Bell hot-sauce packets, Fresno Christian high school students went all out, twinning with either casual or bizarre fits.
The sophomore class took a strategic approach when it came to scoring spirit points with the majority of the class wearing all-black attire.
Lillian Gainer, ‘27, strayed from the easy points and went for a statement piece, twinning with several classmates as minions from the beloved animated movie, Despicable Me. Gainer appreciates the exciting events surrounding homecoming as it provides a change from everyday life.
“I love dress-up days because it makes school feel a little bit more fun and less repetitive,” Gainer said. “You have something to look forward to each day.”

Juniors Float
The junior class is excited to show off their float this Friday at the 39th Annual Homecoming. Students have worked hard over the past few weeks to creatively showcase the family game of their choosing. Previous years have been lackluster, to say the least, as the class of ‘26 has continuously placed fourth in the float-building competition. However, a new level of community and teamwork was achieved this year as participation skyrocketed to levels no one expected. The theme of Candyland has brought about fresh ideas and colorful decorations to catch the eyes of this year’s judges. With a new sense of confidence, they are on their way to breaking a two-year losing streak.
Leadership student Natalie Garcia, ‘26, has dedicated many hours to designing, building and finalizing the Junior float, preparing it for the game this Friday.
“Working on our float as a grade has been a lot of fun. It has bonded us as a class and we have really enjoyed building it,” Garcia said. “This year is going way smoother than the previous years. I am proud of our finished product. Even if it doesn’t win first place this year, it is definitely our best float yet.”
Princess Pageant: Wheel of Unfortunate Events
Princess candidates participate in daily games leading up to Homecoming, increasing excitement and anticipation for the days to come. At lunch, the princesses took the field for their final game and competed in a game accurately titled “Wheel of Unfortunate Events.” Each candidate sat in dread of what they would be asked to do. The princesses left their fate in the hands of the wheel, crossing their fingers and testing their luck. From chunky baby food and mystery ingredients to karaoke and pies in the face, the princesses were faced with the question of how badly they wanted the crown.
Junior princess nominee Kennedy Schwab took on the final game of the week with grace, accepting the unusual consequences with a silver lining of long-lasting memories with her classmates.
“Being a princess candidate is one of the best experiences! It is such a great privilege to be nominated and compete with your friends,” Schwab said. “Today’s game was definitely not my favorite. The food we had to eat was awful, but it was still fun to participate with the other candidates.”
Wheel of Unfortunate Events Podium:
With no princesses backing down from a dare or willing to lose potential points, the game resulted in a three-way tie between classes.
