Jeremy Reimer, ’25, shifts his weight back and forth as he steps up to the microphone for his audition for the 10th annual Valentine’s Day concert hosted by Choir Director Susan Ainley. This year marks the 10th anniversary for this Fresno Christian classic concert that draws crowds year after year.
The concert takes place on February 15 with two show times. The first showing starts at 4 p.m. with $5 tickets. The second show will be a formal sit down at tables for the parents for $20 each at 7:30 p.m. and will include cheesecake.
This performance highlights musical pieces selected by the students ranging between sad breakup songs to cheerful songs about love.
Caleb Iest performed last year in the Valentine’s Day concert, singing “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room.” He will perform a number again this year.
”I enjoy taking what I learn in choir and applying it to contemporary and pop music,” Iest said.
The concert is the biggest fundraiser for the choir other than selling poinsettias during the Christmas season, which helps fund the choir trip down in Anaheim. Last year the Valentine’s concert was sold out. Get your tickets early for this year’s event by emailing your ticket request to [email protected].
