To start the league season, the Fresno Christian Girls Soccer team defeats Yosemite, Jan 14.
Fresno Christian competes in the Northwest Sequoia League against nine other schools. The team consists of six seniors, six juniors, two sophomores, and one freshman. So far the girls are 5-2 for overall wins.
The FC girls push hard in the first half with two goals. On the defensive side, key players Junior Vivian Cheema, Senior Chloe Johnson, Senior Milly Morgan, helped move the ball to midfield, and Goalie Trinity Banister, ’28, saved multiple shots on goal. On the offense, Fresno Christian scored one goal by Junior Meghan Connolly, three by Senior Kennedy Wyatt, one by Senior Abby Herren, and one by Junior Kennedy Schwab.
The girls win against Carathers, 13-0, and Fowler, 5-1. Now the girls are 8-2 this season and will go up against Sierra 1/28.
