Unlike the typical delicatessen, the Sequoia Sandwich Company gives high quality to a sub.
The eatery is furnished with cherrywood tables and chairs gave the deli a sophisticated touch. The woodsy artwork throughout Sequoia gave the shop an outdoorsy feel – an appropriate choice for a deli!
When I first observed the menu, I was in awe of all the options. Not only were there too many sandwiches to choose from, but Sequoia also offers various pastry items for dessert. Though the prices are higher than a usual casual sandwich deli such as Subway or Quiznos, Sequoia Sandwich Company is trying to take a typical deli to the next level.
I decided on the California chicken breast while my friend decided on the chicken and bacon club, both for about $7.
Our meals came out quickly and each sandwich was just off the grill. When I took my first bite, I thought the sandwich was overdone, but the crust was just a little tough. Because of the melted cheese, the sandwich was messy but delicious. The marinated chicken was white and tender and was garnished with the usual sandwich condiments: lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo and, perhaps unexpectedly, avocado. The onion roll I chose added an extra flavor the put the sandwich at the top.
The chicken and bacon club was sliced down the center as well. It was served on a toasted wheat bread with mayo spread on both pieces. The bacon was crispy and the smell was strong, definitely increasing our appetites. The sandwich was crunchy and the flavor of the thin-cut bacon went well with the chicken.
Our bill came out to be around $15 for two sandwiches, which may sound high for some, but rest assured, the meal is worth the few extra dollars.
Sandwiches are all $5.95 or $6.95. The supreme sandwiches, which are larger and have more ingredients, are $8.95. Sides are offered as well from $3-$6. Desserts are offered and a slice of cake was the lowest price ($1.95) and the highest dessert was the homemade cheesecake for ($3.50). Catering is offered as well; all orders must be made in advanced and there is a charge for delivery.
I would recommend Sequoia Sandwich Company for family and friends for a quick and easy meal. Located on the corner of Herndon and Willow in front of Target, in the Commons Shopping Center. Visit them from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. daily or contact them at (559) 323-0330. For more restaurant reviews, visit Paul Ocheltree’s Dec. 17 article, Paisano’s caters gourmet pasta.

Wow…only Goose would do this–so many different expressions. Goose is just sort of “Huh?”, Jordan is staring intently at…something, and Nick looks infinitely bored. I still want to know HOW Austin got his hair like that….

Wow, that’s absolutely crazy. Goose would be the one to do this.

The facial expressions in this picture are hilarious! Austin definitely has a lot of volume in his hair. It’s almost like he teased it with a comb. He should be on one of those bed head, or hair commercials….
