Although I enjoy being outdoors and playing sports, I rarely have the chance to explore the world due to my busy schedule. So when I heard that as a school we were going to the beach to watch a football game, I got very excited because I’ve never before been to the coast.
As I am in the leadership class, I got to plan the activities and games and make posters. While we were planning for the trip in the class, I often imagined what the beach would be like, daydreaming about the beautiful view, cool breeze and clear water.
Since I was excited, days went by fast, and it was finally the day for the beach trip. When I woke up in the morning, I was very happy. And when I got to school, I just could not wait to leave.
During my first-period class, the office called and said that my permission slip had not been turned in. When I first found out, I was so scared that I might not be able to go to the beach. So I had to call my aunt and tell her to come to the parking lot to sign the permission slip. Even though she was mad at me, my aunt was willing to sign the paper.
I was now on my way to the beach.
While driving there, my friends and I listened to music and chatted; the three-hour ride went by pretty quickly. All of a sudden, I looked out the bus window and saw the beautiful view of the beach. I could not wait to explore. Right when I got out of the bus, I could already smell the beach, feel the cool breeze and hear the waves.
As much as I wanted to have fun at the beach, we had to first eat at a diner. After we were done with lunch, we went to the pier to take photos of the scenery. We watched the surfers try to catch the waves, children running around and people fishing.
After the walk at the pier, my friends and I walked along the beach, felt the cold water and enjoyed the environment.
Even though I had a great time at the beach, it had to end when the football game started. After all, that was the whole purpose for the beach trip.
At the game, since a lot of high school students were there, the crowd was wild. We were all cheering, being loud and having a blast. The trip got even better when both of our football teams — junior varsity and varsity — won their games.
Overall, I had a great time at the beach and I would definitely go back again. If we are not going as a school, I would go on my own because I feel like there is more to explore.
For those who have never been to the beach, I encourage visiting as soon as possible, because the beach is one of the best places that I have ever been to.

This was so fun to watch! I think Andrew rapping to Hannah is the most creative way of getting asked to NOTS this year. Great idea Andrew, and you’re a really good rapper!
