Rather than carry out a typical sales-based fundraiser, the school has partnered with Sweet Tomatoes to provide an entertaining experience. From 5-8 p.m. on Oct. 26, the restaurant will be donating 20 percent of its income from FC families to the school.
Sweet Tomatoes is extending the invite to all K-12 students and families. Each individual will have to order a drink and a meal, as well as present a copy of the fundraiser flyer (available from school offices), to contribute to the fundraiser, according to PTF member Darbee Whipple.
In the past, the elementary school has raised about $100 from Sweet Tomatoes. However, Whipple decided to include the junior high and high school to generate more income this year.
“We expected about 40-50 families at this specific event last year, but this year we are extending the invitation,” Whipple said. “We are expecting anywhere between 50 and 80.”
As a primary fundraiser for the school, Whipple appreciates it when students and families contribute.
“It is awesome that families and administrators come together to support their school,” Whipple said. “Sweet Tomatoes offers good food and amazing service that welcome families. I hope anyone who is able to join us will come and support their school.”
