Due to a decline in student involvement, the high school music department will hold mid-year auditions for all choral performers on Jan. 19, at 3 p.m., in the Music Suite. (The date is subject to change.)
According to director Michael Ogdon, students should come prepared to sing a song of choice and various music scales.
Hopeful musicians may see the upcoming Adoration Ensemble auditions as an opportunity to grow in musical expertise, he said.
“Although the Adoration Ensemble could continue with its present membership, I think there may be people interested in singing in the group,” Ogdon said. “This is a great opportunity to discover ways to encourage more music participation in our school.”
Although Ogdon welcomes any auditions, he holds certain expectations for the potential singers.
“I expect that singers will be able to sing in tune, sing with good tone production and breath control, and be able to hold their part when others are singing something different,” Ogdon said. “I expect the student auditioning to have a good reputation academically and personally.”
Even though Ensemble is an audition group, some students take the opportunity to make new friends and create a family-like atmosphere.
“I joined Ensemble because I have never been in a choir group before, and I thought it would be a fun experience,” Morgan Childs, ’12, said. “I think Ensemble is like a family because we spend a lot of time together and learn many interesting things about each other while we sing. I’ve made new friends in ensemble and gotten to know people more than I did before.”

Stobbe I love this picture of you. It just genuinely looks like you are having a great time. I am so happy you could be involved in the Spanish club big dance. So cool!
Keep on dancing, Stobbe. =D

Go dad! You’re crazy!
The flash mob was fun, and I thought it was successful! I wish I would have been going to FC when the Conga Line Flab Mob occurred, but this was just as awesome!
I love Spanish club! (HOLA!)
