As if rebelling against the frigid weather, a few buds and flowers are beginning to bloom along the Blossom Trail in Sanger.
On several trees, half of the almond branches are covered in white flowers while those on the other half are barren.
This is the transition period. Bees are buzzing from flower to flower to pollenate the plants. Soon the petals will fall and the nut will form on the branch.
This collection of photos, taken by junior Dana King, captures the surroundings of the Blossom Trail as they appeared on Feb. 25. As the spring season transforms the trail, The Feather will publish additional photos and slideshows.
