This installment is the eighth in the “Get to Know” series, a feature which aims to help students learn more about their classmates and teachers. A new installment will be posted every other Thursday.
In this edition of “Get to Know,” staff writer Amanda Merzon, ’12, interviews senior Nigel Alcorn.
Merzon: What are your plans for after graduation?
Alcorn: I’m going to Willow International, then somewhere else after. I want to major in sociology or political science.
Merzon: Do you have any extracurricular activities?
Alcorn: I needed an art class to take, so I took choir. Choir is fun because I like singing, even though I’m not very good at it.
Merzon: What is your favorite food?
Alcorn: Shrimp. Any kind of shrimp: Coconut shrimp, teriyaki shrimp. Just shrimp, really.
Merzon: Where is your favorite place to go?
Alcorn: Monterey, CA.
Merzon: What’s the weirdest thing you have ever done?
Alcorn: I don’t know; I don’t really go out of my way just to do weird stuff.
Merzon: Paper or plastic?
Alcorn: Plastic, because the handles don’t rip off easily.
Merzon: What is your favorite word? Why?
Alcorn: Sleep, because I’m really tired.
Merzon: What is your biggest fear?
Alcorn: Ants, bees, wasps or anything in the Order Hymenoptera. I hate flying bugs.
Merzon: What would you do with $1 million and 5 hours of spare time?
Alcorn: Buy everything in sight, just kidding. Well, actually yes, buy everything in sight.
