BASEBALL SPORTS SHORTS 2012–

CARUTHERS RALLIES, DEFEATS EAGLES–April 17
After coming off of their 12-1 win over Riverdale, April 10, the Eagles went on the road to Caruthers, the home of the Blue Raiders, April 17.

FC took an early 5-0 lead in the first inning under the hitting of Trevor York, ’12, 3-4, and Ryan Neufeld, ’12, 2-4. However, FC dropped the ball in the second, losing their lead as Caruthers put up 7 runs to take the lead. The Blue Raiders continued to push ahead as they won the game 8-7.

Junior JP Caprioglio struggled starting out on the mound and had a total of five hits and runs against him. Senior Austin Rurik soon took over, but also had trouble as Caruthers scored three more runs and had three hits.

This proved to be FC’s first loss of the season, but will next take on the Fowler Redcats at home, April 20.
