In their first game of the year, the FC Eagles took on the Turlock Christian Eagles at home, Aug. 24. It was the first ever contest between the two teams and although FC played very well, they lost 52-25.
Senior McKay Mohun feels that although they suffered a loss, the Eagles played well and have many positive things to take away from it.
“I thought that it was great to start the season with an awesome group of guys with a lot of new faces,” Mohun said. “But we still have much more work to do together as a unit. This is a very different team than last year, but I’m very hopeful to see how our teams grows in the future. I definitely think that we played well and we just need to straighten out a few problems.”
The Eagles had 127 total passing yards and 89 total rushing yards. Junior Caleb Nale led the team with 3 total touchdowns and Senior JP Caprioligo returned a kickoff for a touchdown. Defensively, Junior Noah Belmont led the team with 8 total tackles.
The Eagles next game is at Laton High School starting at 7 p.m., Aug. 31.
