Eagles played against Division 1 Bullard High School and D2 Yosemite High School at Sierra Meadows Country Club, finishing off the scrimmages for the season in a special 9 point scoring format, April 4.
Golf coach Jeff Hopper expected the team to face difficulties as Eagles played against two of the best schools in Divisions 1 and 2.
“Bullard?s strong D1 team dusted both Yosemite and us. We?re still trying to catch up to a good D2 school like Yosemite,” Hopper said. “However, as we start the league competition, I think we are ready to defend that title.”
Despite the loss, the team looks forward to the WSL tournaments for team and individual wins.
Alec Culver, ’14, remains committed to the golf game and hopes to improve. Although he was disappointed by losses sustained this year, he chooses to practice more to sharpen his game.
“I felt actually okay with my score considering having some horrible holes,” Culver said. “I was disppointed though because our team as a whole could have done better”
Eagles will next play in WSL tournament on April 9 at Airways golf course.
