In this edition of “Get to Know,” staff writer Emily Shakeshaft, ’14, interviews “Super Aid” Tina Brown.
Tina Brown has been with FC since 1995. She has had two children attend FC through all their school years, Taryn, ’08, and James, ’06. Not only was she a mother to her children on campus, she is like a mama bear to the physical education girls as well as the younger physical education classes. Students may see her around the school because she works the full eight periods, but it is time to get to know her a little bit more.
Brown: I have watched kids grow up while working here. It is so crazy to see them as young kids and now they are married or working here.
Me: What do you do outside of FC work days?
Brown: Well I am a runner so I love to just go on runs and participate in marathons. Its so freeing. When I leave the school I go running, I love to be outside. I love to dance. And I love all music. I dance all the time. I go crazy in my house to loud music all the time. While I clean especially. I love music and I love to just be goofy.
Me: Favorite food?
Brown: I am Italian and russian but I love mexican food. Carbs all day every day. I love to cook Italian food, pastas and breads, it is the best. I don’t like ice cream. I love to have my family over on Sunday nights.
Me: If you could go anywhere on vacation where would you go? And why?
Brown: New york. I have been there twice. I would go any chance I get. I should totally go on the journalism trip. Oh and my husband and I renewed our vows on our 25th anniversary on top of the Empire State building. I am always moving so I love NY.
Me: What is your favorite thing about being at Fresno Christian?
Brown: I love that I get to develop relationships with the kids here. Its like all you guys are my little ones and I love you all. I am kinda like the mama bear here. I just love it.
