As February draws closer it is time for FC’s annual event, Night of the Stars (NOTS). NOTS will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15 at The Grand 1401 in downtown Fresno from 6-11 p.m. This year’s theme is “Winter Wonderland.”
NOTS is the formal event put on by student leadership for FC students to enjoy. This occasion is not the typical school formal. Instead of dancing, students gather to watch movies made by each class. At the end of the viewing an award show is held, resembling the Academy Awards, to honor the class films. Along with the movies and award show, dinner is also served to the students with other attractions such as a drink bar and photo section opportunity.
The morning of NOTS all FC parents are invited to come view all the class movies and make the final decision of which film will receive the Parent’s Choice Award. The freshman class representatives in student leadership are hosting the Parent Choice Awards (PCA).
Jarrod Markarian, ’17, is a part of the set up of PCA, and hopes to have a great turnout. He believes the parents will enjoy seeing their children be a part of the movies, and is excited for the actual event as well.
“I think it’ll be a great event for the parents to view their child?s work,” Markarian said. “I think the parents will be excited even if the movies are good or not so great, because it’s their child’s work. NOTS will be a night to remember and a great experience. It’ll be fun to laugh at your friends and laugh at yourself.”
The event will be held in the music suite starting at 9 a.m. to an estimated time of eleven, food will be provided along with drinks. Parents will watch all the class films and vote for which they think is best.
