Instead of the regularly scheduled practice, Sept. 4, the varsity and JV football players and the cross country team visited Children’s Hospital of Central California.
After the athletes arrived, each team member chose a child to spend the afternoon with. Sophomores Zach Camden, left, and Justin Wilson, engaged in a prehistoric game with a young boy in the playroom while their teammates distributed gifts to sick kids. Junior Tatiana Fontes, not pictured, found the afternoon a blessing.
“My buddy was a little girl,” Fontes said. “Even with her unfortunate situation, she was so joyful and appreciative for what she had.”
After a little more than an hour, the teams gathered outside of the hospital to pray.
