Taking first place in the float competition, the freshmen put together a bluegrass-themed float featuring an outhouse, banjo players and even a live chicken named Denny.

After laboring many hours building their down-home float, the freshmen gained bragging rights by beating the three remaining classes. Despite an energetic effort, the seniors received second place, Oct. 3.

Allison Camden, center left, and Mary Hierholzer, far right, got into the homecoming spirit as they danced to the sub-country genre.
