With 15 minutes left in Greg Stobbe’s freshman Honors English class, Paul Ocheltree, right, mysteriously exited the classroom.

A few minutes later, Ocheltree returned bearing flowers to ask best friend Lizzie Williams to Night of the Stars, Dec. 2. Engrossed in her work, Williams was oblivious to the nervous boy standing next to her.

After a classroom full of giggles finally caught her attention, Williams looked up. Although embarrassed and sporting flushed cheeks, she accepted his offer.
