With the clock ticking toward Christmas break and the ticket-buying deadline, sophomore Andrew Evans asked junior Nacoya Villegas to Night of the Stars (NOTS) with his heart on a string.

After following a winding a kite twine throughout Building 6, Villegas eventually made her way just outside the video productions lab.

“I was nervous because I didn’t know if she had been asked yet or not,” Evans said, “but she hadn’t been so I was happy. My accomplice in this? I had some help; it was Janae Ford (’09).”

Evans took string, tied knots in it and attached it to his ankle. While he nervously sat and waited, anticipating her arrival, Villegas made her way up the stairs. She too was laughing all the way.

Her response?

“Yes, of course.”
