In a rush to send invitations, organize activities, and decorate, food is often left as a last minute concern while planning an event. As a result many people will choose pizza as an easy way to satisfy their guests.

“Usually when I plan an activity and everything is taken care of and food is the last concern I think ordering pizza is the best,” Ericlee Gilmore, student activities director, said. “Pizza is the best because it is quick and everyone likes it.”

In addition to being an easy solution to the food problem, ordering pizza requires little effort and therefore is a favorite choice among many students.

“Whenever I have a party the first idea of what kind of food to have is pizza,” Joelle Grimes, ’06, said. “It doesn’t take much time to order it, everyone likes it and plus I don’t have to worry about cooking.”

According to an on campus poll taken by 199 students out 290, Me-n-Ed’s was the most popular place for students to eat pizza.

“Out of all the restaurants that serve pizza, Me-n-Ed’s is my favorite,” Brennan Gust, ’05, said. “I like how pizza’s can be customized to what you like.”

According to pizzaware.com/facts.htm, pizzerias represent 17% of all restaurants.

“Pizza is a very popular food because people have been raised on it; it is a type of food that can be customized,” Sky Bennett, manager of Di Cicco’s on Cedar and Nees, said. “I think that there is a lot of restaurants that serve pizza but not enough that serve good pizza.”

During a relaxed evening with friends or family, 66.66% of all Americans order pizza, according to www.buffetstylepizza.com.

“Everytime friends come over instead of eating food that is already at home we order pizza,” Alyssia Villapando, ’04, said. “I love the taste of the cheese, sauce, and pepperoni.”

“Usually when my family orders pizza we get pepperoni,” Garrett Horn, ’07, said. “Pepperoni pizza is my favorite, I choose it over any other topping.”
