1, 2, step

In an attempt to learn the salsa, a 20-minute Spanish dance, eleven boys and seven girls clumsily pair up in a line and hold hands. Despite the public display of affection rule, students were instructed to step forward and back in synch with each other.

“I have never done the salsa before and it was fun to learn with a bunch of my friends,” freshman Garrett Childs said. “It was awkward to line up and have someone take pictures of us doing something that we didn’t know how to do.”

Freshmen Stephan Melendez, Briana Graff and junior Zach Ragan brought a variety of snacks to settle the stomachs of those affected by the awkward embraces.
