If the world of fashion seems pretty exclusive, it’s because it is. There is a lot of glam, beautiful people, parties and events, and of course, the clothes. Behind the scenes it’s a different story, but I’ll save that for my next post. FCS Senior and The Feather co-editor-in-chief Rees Roggenstein recently had the opportunity to attend a showing of Emporio Armani’s Fall/Winter 2015 Collection in San Francisco. I caught up with him to get his thoughts on the show.
Silva: What was the atmosphere in the room like before the show started?
Rees: The atmosphere was cool and relaxed. But there was a sense of anticipation before the models came out.
Silva: What did you think of the collection? Would you wear the clothes?
Rees: The collection was very modern. Most of the clothes had bizarre and eye catching designs. I was more interested in the suits they had on display than what was on the models.
Silva: What did you think of the models (how they were styled, how they walked)? What vibe did they give off?
Rees: The models were very impressive. They were serious, but smiling most of the time as they walked around the building.
Silva: What was the audience’s reaction to the presentation?
Rees: The audience showed a reserved opinion of the clothing. No ecstatic outbursts, but a calm applause and a rare “Oh my God” here and there.
Silva: What was your overall impression of the event? What did you like and dislike about it?
Rees: I enjoyed the event a lot. It felt sophisticated and kind of exclusive, which I liked. The suits were beautiful, so I bought one. I had no dislikes about the event – I would definitely go again if I’m invited.
