In Bessalee Mendoza’s civics class, seniors Connor Gibes, left to right, Nigel Alcorn, Will Gonzales and Jacob Balderas present amendment projects, Sept. 15.

Groups had the option to create a new amendment, modify an existing one, or abolish one altogether. Through the assignment, Mendoza aimed to give students a personal experience regarding the U.S. Constitution so that they would further understand its significance.
