In anticipation of the Christmas season, art teacher Sharon Scharf requested that a few of her students paint a wooden panel, representing the birth of Jesus Christ to display on Christmas Tree Lane, Dec. 13.

Sophomore Katie Barisic, left, and senior Ashlyn White spend their lunch period putting the finishing touches on the nativity scene in hopes of completing the project by the end of the day.

The panel will be on display near the corner of Ashlan and Van Ness avenues in Fresno by Dec. 14. The FCS display will join many of the panels from the local community, depicting scenes from the holiday season.
