As a new assignment and latest trend for seniors Seth Ramirez, left, Josiah Ford, middle, and junior Ryan Neufeld, the boys take up knitting beanies for their home economics class, March 2. Teacher Sharon Scharf, top left, and sophomore Stefi Peck observe the knitters as well as the hand-knitted beanies on their heads.
Scharf is thrilled to have students take such an interest in the art of knitting and willing to help fellow classmates learn how to knit as well, she said.
“The students have taken to knitting a beanie and have orders from other students for the much wanted headpieces,” Scharf said. “Ryan Neufeld is even designing his own original beanies!”
