The annual Fresno Area College Night will be held in the Fresno Convention Center from 6-9 P.M on Sept. 15. The evening is for students in grades 10-12 who are interested in learning about different colleges.
The event offers a variety of sources for all college information in a vast array of displays, according to Jon Endicott, vice principal.
“I hope students are overwhelmed in a good way, with all the options out there,” Endicott said. “They have workshops on how to get into college, financial aid and scholarships.”
At the event, there are representatives from schools all over the state, who are there to give information to anyone who is interested. Last year there were over 100 colleges to choose from, and all will answer any questions about their college.
Many students find it helpful to go and look around for ideas about what kind of school they would like to attend.
“College Night definitely helped me narrow down my key choices of where I wanted to go to college and opened up a lot of possibilities to schools I didn’t know about before, Victor Cabias, ’04, said. I also learned about how to get financial aid and talked to a lot of people.”
A second college night is planned for Sept. 22 when the First Baptist Church will host the Christian College Fair.
