With peanuts scattered all over the floor, the staff of Logan’s Roadhouse scrambles over the carpet of shells to eagerly serve their hungry customers. The crunching sound of shells permeates the air as patrons wait to be seated.
Logan’s Roadhouse serves up original variations on seemingly plain and redundant dishes.
Livening up the atmosphere with neon lights and blaring country music, Logan’s friendly staff greets with affability and promptness.
“I went to Logan’s Roadhouse and ate so much food,” Derek George, ’06, said. “It was one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. The free bread and free peanuts make it a really fun place to eat. ”
When seated, guests are faced with a gallon bucket, filled with salted peanuts ready to be crunched and mashed on the floor.
“I love to eat the peanuts and throw them on the floor,” Nic Westburg, ’05, said. “It’s such a fun place to eat. The steak I ordered there was one of the best I’ve ever eaten.”
Although steak is considered Logan’s signature dish, lighter meals are offered as well. Logan’s huge Roadhouse salad, topped with bacon bits, eggs and various cheeses, satisfies the appetite at only $11.99.
“I didn’t get a steak when I went to Logan’s,” Brandon Diaso, ’05, said. “I got a huge salad with ranch dressing. My dad’s ribs looked really good though. He was happy that it only cost him $12.”
Some may assume that with such good food and top-notch staff, Logan’s would drain the pocket book. This is not the case, as Logan’s strives to offer high-class food at reasonable prices.
“My friend told me Logan’s was expensive, so I was reluctant to go,” Westburg said. “I was really surprised when I saw on the check that I didn’t blow all my money. I had enough left over to get ice cream afterwards.”
Logan’s has established itself as a permanent chain and a mighty powerhouse in the restaurant industry, with 111 restaurants established in just barely over a decade.
With menu items ranging from potato skins to filet mignon, I had a tough time making my choice for dinner. I finally settled on the 12-oz. rib-eye steak at medium rare for only $13.99. The meat was grilled perfectly and came with a side of mashed potatoes.
I would give Logan’s a B+ because of its fantastic food and great service. I would recommend it to any person who loves a great place to eat and have fun.
Logan’s Roadhouse is located on Blackstone across from Riverpark shopping center.
