A tradition for ClovisFest is to begin the festivities with the liftoff of several hot air balloons at 6:30 a.m.
Several families rush over to the Clovis Rodeo grounds to watch the enormous balloons be filled with air and then take to the sky. However, some Clovis residents stay home and watch the airborne objects from their roofs at a slightly delayed time.
ClovisFest begins today, Sept. 17, and will be closing down tomorrow, Sept. 18. Polasky Avenue is the focus after the hot air balloons with food and vendor booths, rides and face painting for kids, car show, arts and crafts.
