Daniel Thao, ’16, creates a winning post card in a competition called “Postcards From the Valley” sponsored by the Fresno County Office of Education and hosted by the Fresno Art Museum.
Using colored pencil, Thao created his card to represent a farm scene. He said that farming runs deep in his family’s heritage and that is why he included the drawing of his dad’s tractor.
Out of the 1,800 entries representing 25 schools, only 20 were choosen and Thao and fellow campus student, GeeHyun Park, ’12, were two of the 20 chosen by a panel of three local artists.
Art teacher Sharon Scharf was contacted by Bob Bullwinkle, Fresno Art Museum representative, and Scharf says, “I like to have my students participate in these kinds of events to further the name of Fresno Christian schools.”
The postcards are on display at the Fresno Art Museum until the end of January 2012.
