Senior GeeHyun Park, stands next to the 20 chosen postcards to represent the San Joaquin Valley, Dec. 10. Park’s scratchboard postcard of the ‘Welcome to Fresno’ arch sign of downtown Fresno, was one of two campus entries of the 1,800 entries that were submitted to the “Postcards For the Valley” competition, representing 25 schools.
This local event is sponsored by the Fresno County Office of Education and hosted by the Fresno Art Museum to showcase talented San Joaquin Valley students.
Campus eighth grade student Daniel Thao’s pencil drawing postcard of a farm scene, including his family’s tractor, was also chosen by a panel of three local artists.
Art teacher Sharon Scharf was contacted by Bob Bullwinkle, Fresno Art Museum representative, and Scharf says, “I like to have my students participate in these kinds of events to further the name of Fresno Christian schools.”
The postcards are on display at the Fresno Art Museum until the end of January 2012.
