Dear editor,
Divorce is one of the most selfish things a person can do. As Kira Armbruster wrote in her online article, “”Divorce carries heavy emotional toll”” on Sept. 30, divorce is a very hard thing to deal with and makes no sense to those who are left.
The only thing divorce can bring is hurt, pain and wreckage to everyone around.
The divorce was very hard on my three brothers and I. There’s no room for forgiveness. The divorce turned me into a bitter and untrusting person at times. It makes me feel like my family isn’t even there for me.
I can’t talk to my dad anymore. My mom would never go to family gatherings if she knew my dad would be there. The whole situation put my brothers and I in a very awkward position.
I’ve found that writing everything out in a journal is the best way to deal with my feelings. I can write exactly how I feel without worrying about who is going to read it or who will hear about it.
While journaling brings only temporary contentment, it is a good thing to do until I can talk to others about my feelings.
