After months of dry weather, the first rainfall of the year causes sports practices to cancel due to the watery condition, Jan. 23. Instead, teams will go over plays for upcoming games inside, away from the rain.
According to The Fresno Bee, the Fresno area has not had measurable rain since Nov. 20, 2011. Over the weekend and continuing today, rainfall has resumed. However, totals are behind the 30-year norm even as the weekend produced .91 inches of rain. Rain fell today as well with more forecast for tomorrow. Softball and baseball practices were cancelled as a result.
